Couture: Bold Printed Flats

I have spent much of my life feeling very averse to patterns. The bright, bold statement of a floral or geometric design goes against my type-A need for smooth lines and clean color palettes. When I look at a pattern my heart starts to race a little bit. Not just from the bright colors, but from the busy, haphazard jumble of shapes. It goes against my nature. I like streamlined, crisp, simple. For years, stylists have tried to ply me with far too sunny daisy print Kate Spade sundresses and pastel nightmare Liberty London blouses. But aside from an occasional statement skirt, polka dot blouse, or bold striped tee, I have stuck my ground. I tend to gravitate to solids, with maybe a plaid, floral, or polka dot here and there. But where I dare not go in clothing, I fully embrace in footwear. Though I may never be one to wear head-to-toe floral, I will dip my toe in a wild pattern like the amazing Fruit Salad Charlotte Olympia flats I'm coveting. Here are some of my faves for Spring 2018.

Fruit Salad Flats, Charlotte Olympia.
Keds x Rifle Paper Co. Birch Triple Decker Sneaker, Nordstrom.
Cecily Sequin Embellished Espadrille, Tory Burch.
Three of my favorite Spring 2018 Minnie Travel Flats from Tory Burch. These are THE best flat you will ever buy. I own an embarrassing number, but the classic ballet flat style makes them wearable forever, and they hold up beautifully.

Hicks Garden Minnie Travel Flats, Tory Burch.
Painted Iris Minnie Travel Flats, Tory Burch.
Tapestry Geo Minnie Travel Flats, Tory Burch.
