Couture: Pretty in Spring Pink

Despite that it has felt more like November in the past few days than April, everywhere I look fashion seems to be popping up pink. And it’s not just because I have on rose colored glasses. Although, these days they might be more accurately described as rosé colored glasses! Quartz, rose, blush, and bashful (a nod to Steel Magnolias fans) are covering the pages of Vogue and the window fronts of major stores. And I’m loving it.

Light shades of pink are wonderfully wearable. The key is to find the right hue to complement your skin tone—more gray/lavender for those with cooler tones, more beige/peach for those with warmer tones. And, soft pinks function like a neutral. Pair it with black for a more sophisticated look, pair it with pearls and other neutrals like ivory for a ladylike look, or pair it with some other spring pastel hue like mint green for a palette that screams Sunday brunch and tulips.

Here are a few of my favorite of-the-moment finds in various shades of pink.

Three pink hued dresses by Ted Baker, Nordstrom. Ted Baker tends to do a lot of dark hues. Love these bright, springy dresses. Perfect for a bridal shower, spring wedding, or fancy mimosa-filled brunch!

Kenneth Cole Reaction Twill Coat, Nordstrom. This coat is less boxy in person. It would be so chic when worn over a sheath dress in black, navy, or ivory. It would also dress up a pair of jeans or black cigarette pants.

Sandro Mixed Lace Dress, Nordstrom. The black grograin ribbon accentuates the waist for an oh-so-slimming look. Love the peek-a-boo lace look of the top.

Bagdley Mishka Color Block Raincoat, Nordstrom. When you can't change the weather, change your coat. A cute color blocked rain jacket for rainy spring days.

Bagdley Mishka Pink Rain Slicker, Nordstrom. Even though this looks overwhelming in the photo, it's not. The material is super waterproof (gortex!) and it would keep even the most fabulous outfit dry. The pink is beautiful in person.

Jackson Street Gabrielle Cross-body Bag, Kate Spade. This is the perfect bag for your phone, wallet, and a lip gloss. It's slim design is ideal for a cross-body to avoid bulk. And, the pebbled leather ensures that you will wear this bag for many seasons to come.
McGraw Tote, Tory Burch. This is my favorite tote for spring. I love the pink leather with the dark stitching which makes the purse a versatile neutral. It's plenty roomy and even comes with the fun tassle.
Odele Heels, Kate Spade. Ruffles, suede, pink. Need I say more?

Fleur Bow-back Dress, Madwell. This dress would be cute with a white lace tee underneath and topped with a distressed denim jacket for the beginning of spring, and then it could transition to warmer weather with a chunky wood or cork heel in a dark brown with some funky jewelry for a music fesitval vibe.

Fleming Satchel, Tory Burch. The handle gives this bag an elevated, ladylike look. Love the structure of the Fleming. I perfer bags that hold their shape when you set them down. This one is exquisite.
